Free documentary showing addresses local human trafficking

Magdalene Hope and the Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking will present a free showing of the 50-minute documentary “The Trafficked Life” on Sunday, Dec. 13, at noon, at the Hitching Post Theater.

The Hitching Post is providing a great opportunity for people in Tehachapi to view the documentary for free and learn about human trafficking in this region. The film is not rated; however, it is not suitable for young children. It is appropriate for teens at parents’ discretion.

After the local showing, lunch and a panel discussion will follow at nearby Tehachapi Community Church’s Friendship Hall, at the corner of E and Green streets.

This documentary has been shown at the Maya Theater in Bakersfield to a packed audience and a longer premier version of the documentary will be shown at the Fox Theater in Bakersfield on Jan. 7.

Tickets to the later showing will be sold for $20.

The Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking will provide the food; however, reservations are required and can be made by calling the church at 822-4443 or vial email at revnbacon@gmail.com by Dec. 10.
